LPT: Don't use the phrase "Not that you care, but…" By doing so you've essentially just shut your listener off as you just told them there is no way they could possibly care about what you're about to tell them.
My mom uses this one all the time.
Sometimes it automatically makes me shut off my listening for her next few sentences.
Sometimes it guilts me into pretending that I actually do care about what she just said so she doesn't feel like whatever she wanted to share is unimportant or trivial, making me feel shitty.
Most of the time, not mutually exclusive to the above, it makes me feel like she's just going to waste the next minute of my life.
Instead, try "I don't know if you'll find this as cool as I did, but I wanted to share it with you!"
