LPT: Fill a spray bottle with a few squirts of dishsoap and water and spray dirty dishes instead of soaking them.

I discovered this when visiting a friend with a tiny sink. It was impossible to soak some of her larger pans and bowls that had crusty food on the edges. I squirted some Dawn into an empty bottle and filled it with water. Shook it up and sprayed it over all of the dishes on the counter (the silverware I stuck in a tall glass of hot soapy water). I started washing the cleanest stuff first and by the time I got to the dirtier dishes they cleaned up easily. I didn't realize how dependent I was on this method until I visited another friend and didn't have a spray bottle and we ended up soaking a crock pot in her sink and it was a pain to fill up dishes to soak when I usually just spray them with soapy water and start washing.
