LPT: If you want to help people affected by a disaster, donate blood regularly, not after it happens.

I called my father today, who lives in Vegas, and he said that he and hundreds of others are donating blood right now.

The problem with this is these people need blood right now. Some of them needed it 10 hours ago. These blood donations are going to take days to get tested and be ready for use.

An increased amount of constant donations allows for blood banks to have immediate access to usable blood. These en mass donations can end in a lot of it getting thrown away.

You can donate once every 2 months. It provides multiple health benefits, primarily in males. You get free snacks and drinks, and of course it makes you feel great.
