LPT: When downgrading odd socks to rags,make a large cut in the sock. This prevents the odd sock getting back in your drawer

Sometimes odd socks are great for dusting etc, then it goes in the wash, gets sorted. Now your rag sock is back with your other laundry. Cutting a decent line in the top makes it obvious its a rag, and means other house members don't need to check if the item is a rag. Also works for old tee shirts etc. Super useful if you have a lot of similar looking clothes.
