YSK if your not sure what to get at the liquor store or just new to drinking, a lot of stores have sample bottles, most are cheap (<$5) and you can try out lots of different types of liquor affordably to see what you like.
It's an easy way to new discover new drinks without breaking the bank. Almost every independently owned liquor store I've been to has a massive selection of sample bottles and I try 5-8 at a time. Also just a note, ABC liquor does not have a very selection of sample bottles.
