I have slept on benches in the KL airport for 2 days and am set to sleep here for another 2 until the embassy opens on Tuesday.
I transferred into immigration and out while in Kuala Lumpur. My passport has always had a rip in it but the ticketing agent ripped off the entire corner when handling my passport. I was busy printing out my visa letter and only found out when I had reached immigration. I didn't think it would be an issue and was able to immigrate out. This is where I fucked up. When I reached Vietnam, I was sent back to Malaysia.
In Malaysia the immigration rejected me (even though I had immigrated in hours earlier) and told me to call the US Embassy. I was able to reach the emergency line but they are unable to help until the embassy is open on Tuesday (Monday is Columbus Day). This was Friday night.
I can't shower and the airline will not give me my check-in luggage or access to their lounge (business class only). Every interaction devolves into them insisting that I caused the ripped corner and that they do not owe me anything. Also a YSK: Never fly Malaysia Airlines.
