Easy pickups and drop-offs at airports (2 tips!)

CaptionHere are two tips for the next time you go to the airport:When you're picking someone up: If you have to wait 10-15 minutes for your passenger, it's very difficult to park in the arrivals area outside baggage claim because there's no waiting allowed. Instead, go up to the departure area (usually on a different level of the airport). There's much less traffic there and the police don't come by nearly as often to make you move your car. The last time I had to pick someone up, I easily waited in the departure area for 15 minutes with no hassle. Of course, your mileage may vary depending on time of day and airport, but it's worth a shot if you're too lazy to drive to the cell phone lot. You can tell your passenger to meet you in the departure area or just drive down to the arrival area when they're ready to go.When you're being dropped off and have lots of baggage: If you need a cart to hold all your baggage it's going to cost you $5 at most domestic US airports. However, if you're dropped off in the arrivals area, you're almost guaranteed to find several abandoned carts near the taxi pickup area. So save yourself $5 by getting a free cart and then take the elevator up to the departure/ticketing area.
