LPT: Be accurate when asking someone to change a behavior, exaggerating the issue will cause them to dismiss your argument and justify the behavior.
This is true for anything from dietary habits to shower lengths. Exaggerating someone’s behavior when asking them to change causes them to think that they don’t have a problem if they aren’t at whatever level you use in your argument. I️.e Saying they eat 5 bags of chips a day will allow them to justify the 3 they have actually been eating.
