LPT: Don't underestimate the affect your own biology has on your mood

Feeling down for an unknown reason with no history of mental illness? Try this:

  • Drink a cup of water
  • Eat some wholesome food
  • Have some caffeine if it's not too late

These may seem like common sense but all to often people think "Wow, I feel terrible" and start descending a spiral of negative thoughts and then have some food and water to find they were simply hungry.

I think this especially applies if your a laidback person on weekends or if you're self-employed, as silly as it sounds forgetting to eat can be bad news.

That said just having a cup of water and some food isn't a fix-all, you could be going through a rough time, but if you feel bad for weeks and months on end please see a counselor, you matter.
