LPT: Accidentally let a pet rat or hamster out of their cage and can't catch them? Leave their running wheel out so that you will know when they are around, and where by the sound of the wheel moving

I knew my dad's girlfriend's hamster couldn't resist using that damn wheel. It made so much noise. When I accidentally lost the hamster I put the wheel out by the refrigerator because that's where my nice dog helped me track her to. I relaxed in another room for a while, and soon enough I heard that wheel again. I took a pan lid and walked along the side and trapped the runaway hamster between the wheel with it. That's how it went down a few years ago. Hope this tip helps someone
