LPT: Advice can be valuable but each of us are the experts in our own lives. Don't waste your time trying yo get people to understand a decision you know to be right for you.
I've been in this scenario so many times, usually family and friends telling you how best to live your life and the decisions you should make because they "know you so well".
I love discussing and shaping my ideas when speaking with family and friends but they don't always agree on decisions that I know are right for me.
I've moved to the USA with people not understanding why I wanted to go. And after several years I decided to move back. After family saw me in the USA they just couldn't understand why I wanted to move back!
Neither decision was made lightly and I spoke with family about both decisions. But neither of these decisions have I convinced family or friends it was the right move at the time. For me, I have no regrets of either decision and I've wasted too much time trying to get people to understand my decisions.
It's still good to talk and shape my ideas, it's nice to explain why I make some decisions, but if family don't understand I don't stress anymore about it. However much somebody thinks they know the right decision for me, I'm the only person living my life. I'm the expert in my own life.
