LPT: 'ends and pieces' bacon is perfect for sandwiches but only about 1/3 the price of the pretty bacon.

For comparison, the thick applewood bacon where I shop is $5.99/lb and this was a 3 lb. package of thick applewood ends and pieces for $6.99. I've gotten it twice now and there's a higher fat content overall so more of it melts off during cooking but it also means you can get it super crispy without making it shatter. Enjoy!
