Thought I would share some tips I’ve learned over the years for staying awake when forced to travel long hours and/or late at night.
Some of these are obvious, but still worth mentioning.
1) if you’re tired to the point that you may be a danger to yourself or others, pull over and rest, it won’t matter how fast you can get to your destination if you never make it.
2) Loud music. Turn your bass all the way up and put on music that you know well enough to sing along. It works best if it makes you want to dance.
3) whistling. I don’t know why, but it works.
4) chew gum
5) turn your AC on full blast as cold as it will go.
6) Tap your feet.
7) drink caffeine
I know a lot of people will be traveling for the holidays so I hope this helps. Above all be safe and know your limits!
