LPT: If sending a letter to Santa, send it to "Santa Claus, North Pole, H0H 0H0, Canada." They will send a reply for free, and the reply is sometimes even personalized with responses to the child's questions.

Several "Letter to Santa" places charge for a reply. This is free. No postage required in Canada to send to this address, either.

My son (mentally handicapped, 23) has sent letters here for the last three years. He gets SO excited to hear back! In past years, it was just a post card, but today he got his longest reply ever; a full letter (some of it form letter), with responses to his questions and references to comments he made. I was amazed.
