LPT: When deciding on a new home, make the commute to/from your workplace to the prospective home. Decide whether the change in journey time changes your opinion of the property.

Many people forget they will mostly be travelling to/from work and moving as little as a few hundred metres/yards can greatly change travel times, especially in the inner city. For example, if I lived on the other side of my street, directly across from my current home, it would increase by commute by 10 mins each way. Some changes can be much greater. Use this test to see if you are willing to spend the extra time of each working day in traffic.
