If you want to get solid information on a topic/formulate an argument, but don't have much time, you can post a wildly contentious post to a relevant subreddit/forum and rely on other users' takedown of your position to get the best possible information in the fastest way.
CaptionGenerally, nobody wants to 'help' anyone do research, and if you post any sort of question/plea you're not going to get much. The best way to go about finding comprehensive, and thorough information on a position you want to research or defend is to simply put a small amount of thought into a counterposition and the same users who wouldn't spend much time on helping you will jump at the chance to 'prove you wrong', pulling out all the stops and generally putting a lot of effort into their post.
