LPT - If you have an itchy mosquito bite, apply heat to the bite area using a hairdryer for immediate and permanent relief.
The protein in the antigen that the mosquito injects into you (which is what causes the uncomfortable itchiness) breaks down at a heat of approximately 50 degrees centigrade. Once it starts breaking down the itching immediately stops.
I’ve seen people suggest using hot spoons, hot water or lighters on the bites to treat the itchiness but at that temperature you risk burning yourself worse than the actual bite.
However, I’ve found that a hairdryer pointed a few centimetres above the bite quickly generates enough heat to give you almost immediate relief with far less risk of burning yourself in the process.
