LPT: if you want to read a newer book that isn’t at your local library yet you can request your library buy it and notify you when it comes in!

I’m not a librarian so I don’t know how this works but it works well from a customer standpoint. I just used my library’s website to request a book that was published this past November. They emailed me back a few hours later saying they decided to order it and have already placed the order and will notify me when it arrives. What a world!

(Of course there’s a chance they’ll say “not interested” but I’ve used this a few times and they’ve always said yes)
