The most an iPhone would typically cost to repair is about $350.
With Asurion, you could pay $9 a month for the privilege of a $199 deductible to get a used/refurbished/not top-of-the-line phone. Then you spend hours bringing it up to par with your old one and shipping it out.
This is totally not worth it. There are few circumstances where it wouldn't make sense to self-insure your existing phone instead.
I found this out the hard way--they didn't bother telling me my deductible was this high, and when I needed it I realized how screwed I was.
Stop giving them your money.
