YSK many hotels are now adding mandatory "resort fees" at the counter to make their advertised prices appear lower.

I booked a 4 star hotel advertised for $80/night on Hotwire. It ended up costing $160/night after taxes (which I expected) and hefty "resort fees" (which I did not expect). Though the final total wasn't terrible, I'm still upset that hotels are getting away with deceptive pricing and manipulative advertising tactics. Watch out for these sneaky fees next time you book a hotel!
