YSK poultry products sold in the US that boast "no antibiotics" are being deceptive. The implication is that competing products use antibiotics. In reality, no poultry sold in the entire country has antibiotics. Using them in poultry is illegal.
I know someone who bought the very expensive organic chicken for years because it was the first chicken she saw that said "No antibiotics, EVER!" on it, and she just assumed that was part of it being organic. Not wanting to ingest food raised with antibiotics (and simultaneously unable to explain this requirement for her food, but that's another story), she paid 8 dollars a pound for chicken for the past 4 years, assuming that alternatives had antibiotics.
No chicken in the store has antibiotics. Not even the 1.88/lb chicken.
It's the same as if food was labled "Not slathered in feces!". The implication being that a competitor might slather their food in feces, so buy this one, which you know is feces free. The reality is that no food sold in the country is slathered in feces.
