This applies to other forms of mental illness as well but I personally was recently diagnosed with ADHD as an adult and just knowing has changed my life. Things that I have experienced for years just began to make sense. Even without treating the symptoms just knowing that its a thing brings tremendous relief. It's funny/bittersweet that it took me this long to get diagnosed.
