YSK if you have Xfinity/Comcast for your ISP and you are worried about losing your email address with them if you cancel services, you can transfer your email address to a friend if they are a current subscriber.
If you have been a long time subscriber to Xfinity and thought about changing to a different provider you are definitely not alone. We are not choosing to stay with Xfinity for their stellar Customer Service they provide that is for sure, it's usually because we are using an ISP connected Email Address and don't want to lose that.
To avoid losing your email address when switching ISP's, we really should be using a non-ISP related Email Address (Gmail, Yahoo...etc). With that being said there are many of us that still use our ISP connected Email Address and once we cancel services we will lose that along with any attached emails. There are many ways to download and save your email data, but Xfinity does not offer a way to preserve your email address with some sort of a stand alone account for Email only.
In order to preserve your email after you cancel your services you need to find a friend or family member that is a current Xfinity subscriber. They can add a Second user on their account for free. When they add a second user on their account it will ask the current subscriber what name and what Email Address to use so they can check for availability. So because the other service was canceled it makes that Email Address available now. Once this is complete you can continue using whatever email client you were using before with Xfinity to access your email.
This will work until that friend or family member has had enough of Xfinity's horrible customer support and decides to cancel services themselves.
