LPT: Buy a Visa prepaid card and put $5 on it to use as your free trial sign up card. That way if you forget to cancel the free trial you won't be charged the membership fee.

$5 is enough to verify a card has funds on it but not enough to cover the cost of a membership (usually) so when the free trial is over your card won't have enough funds and your membership will be cancelled.
