If your phone is getting rather old and starting to feel a bit slow, try this trick. It speeds up animations drastically, making your phone feel way faster. Open up Settings, scroll down to 'About device' or similar, and head into 'Software Info'. Tap the 'Build Number' 7 times. This enables the secret developer options. Head back to the main Settings screen, where you should now find 'Developer Options' directly above 'About device'. Tap it and scroll down to 'Drawing'. This may be called differently on other phones than Samsungs. You'll find it, just keep looking. When you find it you should see different options that are all set to 1x, specifically 'Animation Scale'. Click one and change it to a faster speed, like 0.5x. This means the animation for that option will be 0.5x the original one, so twice as fast. Do this for all the options. Once done, watch your phone take off. It legitimately makes your phone feel WAY faster, and greatly speeds up even those old phones. For concerns about battery life; it's a very insignificant drop. I'd say half of a precent at max.
