LPT When dealing with a group, publicly thank those doing the right thing rather than condemn those are who doing the wrong thing.
I learned this trick in the classroom. When I walk into the classroom, I expect my students to have their notes out and ready to go. When I walk into the classroom and notice several students do not have their notes out, instead of saying, “Where are you notes???” I’ll make a big deal to thank those who do (this makes everyone else follow suit).
Or if the students become too talkative, I’ll thank the ones who are quiet rather than “get onto” the ones who aren’t.
