Sometimes websites interpret mouse-out actions as a "never mind" action (going to close the tab) and will offer an additional discount.
A subscription page on the Washington Post's website reminded me of this phenomenon. I've made it a habit to mouse out of the window on every page during the checkout process. Besides this, what could it hurt?
