I work at Heathrow Airport and the amount of people who ask for pens is astonishing, I always make sure I have several pens on me becuase I know for sure there will always be people needing one to fill out their landing card. On days where I actually forget to bring my pens it's a huge ordeal, passengers are left stuck in the immigration area begging for other people for pens and it forms a huge group of angry, impatient and penless travelers who just want to get to their hotels. Now for those of you asking why Heathrow don't actually provide pens I totally understand where your coming from because they really should, thing is though everytime I leave my pens on the desks for other passengers to use they always get stolen by heartless pen thiefs and the whole cycle starts again. IT'S THE WORST.
TL;DR: People don't have pens while traveling and are stuck begging other people for pens to fill out their landing cards.
