LPT: Don't be nervous to ask a professor for a letter of recommendation, most times they'll be proud to be a part of the process.
This morning I asked my philosophy professor to write me a letter of recommendation. I've had him for three semesters now, and he's without a doubt been a big part of my college experience. Upon hearing my request he grew visibly excited and started offering me advice about the process. It's easy to forget that most professors (at least the ones worth taking) really want to see you succeed.
