A lot of us feel like we're "wasting out lives", afraid that we'll die before we get a chance to do everything we want to do. We turn around every time a new month or new year is finally over and remark about how quickly it went.
If we deliberately act on a new habit every day for a month, it becomes the longest month of our lives in a strange way, because we're engaging with our lives instead of being passive.
When we engage with our lives by focusing on good actions, each of our days takes on a richer quality, as if they take on more detail, complexity. This gives the impression of time slowing down.
