LPT: You can estimate how much sunlight is remaining using your outstretched hand. Each finger above the horizon is ~15 minutes.

Very useful if you’re hiking, camping, or find yourself without a phone (or general knowledge of sunset times).

Clarification: hold your hand horizontally in front of you between the sun and the horizon at arms length. The distance between the sun and horizon is your time. One hand (4 fingers) is an hour until the sun is below the horizon.
