PETHACK! Instead of harsh soaps and antifungals, use contact solution to clean your animals gunky face, and micellar water for their earwax!

CaptionI have a Persian cat who has a very gunky and crusty face, and she absolutely hates getting her face cleaned with the antifungal stuff, it smell terrible and it stings their eyes and skin. I talked to multiple vets before I did this and they all said as long as she was cool with it and there's no reaction, it's perfectly safe to clean her face with contact solution. I use biotrue because it's the most similar to real tears, contact solution is made to be able to go in your eyes, it disinfects, breaks down protein buildup, and also has antifungal properties. I tried using just a hot wet towel but it doesn't break down the crust and gunk and easily, contact solution is made for breaking protein deposits, so I can rub her sensitive face folds less and not irritate it.And my Persian has very oily earwax too, so for that I use a cotton pad dampened with some micellar water, make sure it's just damp and no drips. Gently rub the inside of the ear, the micellar water breaks down and removes oil and buildup gently and with no chemicals, and make sure to dry it after so they don't get an ear infection.I still use the ketosab anitfungal shampoo for her face once a month, but for the daily cleaning I've been using this cleaning regiment for 6 months now and I have to say, everyone is happier. I have a much faster and easier time cleaning her everyday, and she isn't suffering through harsh chemicals in her face. This is probably the quickest, most painless, and chemical free way I can think of for a daily cleaning routine. I also put micellar water in a spray bottle, spray that on their fur and rub them with a clean towel every week, I've got asthma and I feel like this has helped a little with the dander as well.
