I've done this countless times for appliances, computers, etc and it's amazing how some companies respond right away and others go into a black hole where no one calls back.
I also email to see how long it takes for them to respond to email requests.
If I have a good experience I let the csr and the person I'm buying from know that their service team is the reason I bought.
