LPT: If you have to read a speech from a paper, highlight every other line so it is harder to lose track of where you are on the page.

This is often done in data tables and tables of contents. If you combine alternating highlights with easy-to-read font and line spacing, it is very difficult to get lost in your own words. Stumbling less in front of an audience is always good!

I personally prefer light blue as my highlight color, because it stands out more than yellow but still does not overwhelm the black text. If you are printing the highlight like me rather than using a real highlighter, print a test page to make sure it is legible. I started doing this senior year of high school, and it served me well through my college speech class! Example: http://ift.tt/2AcuTfM
