LPT: Traveling to touristy spots during the holiday season? Keep valuables in front pockets to avoid being pickpocketed!

The holiday season is notorious for this scheme. It is so easy for someone to take your phone from your back pocket without you realizing, especially in very crowded places.

•keep phones/keys/wallets in front pockets avoid the temptation to put them in your back pocket.

•Ladies who don’t have front pockets and use a purse/handbag? Always keep your compartment zippered closed. If you’re wearing a coat, place your hand bag on your shoulder inside your coat, not on the outside. Keep it in hanging infront of you, not on your side or behind.

•Backpacks? The possibility is still there. Always keep both zippers closed at the end of the bag, by the bottom. (Not where they meet on the top) it’s harder this way for others to open your bag this way. If possible, walk with your bag in front of you.

[Only bring what you need while shopping. Don’t bring excess cash/credit cards. Avoid bringing your passport with you while roaming, instead carry a copy of it!]

Not only can this save you from being robbed of money, but you can prevent yourself the stress from having to replace identification/important documents during this season of joy.
