LPT: When meeting with a stranger to exchange goods for cash items, check to see if your local police department or sheriff's office has a trade station and meet there instead.
There have been muggings and shootings when people exchange goods for cash on Craigslist/Gumtree. Some police departments have a trading point outside them where buyers/sellers can exchange goods in a safe environment. In the US, I believe they are called SafeTrade Stations.
