Instead of running around swatting to try and catch a fly, you can spray it and it will stop/fall to ground then catch it. This has been my go to approach for years now with near 100% success rate since the mist doesn’t trigger the fly to move. Just wait for it to be still on a light fixture, table, wherever and then a single spray does the trick. Spray bottle with water works which is nice (non marking and non toxic). I usually use counter top spray though cause it’s handy and also non toxic.
