LPT: When meeting someone, repeat their name after they introduce themselves to help with remembering their name.
I always have trouble remembering people's names but I find that saying their name back after meeting them has helped! And its an opportunity to clarify pronunciation if it's a difficult name.
For example:
Stranger: Hello, we've never met before. I'm John. Me: Hi, John. I'm Alex - nice to meet you!
