LPT: When your SiriusXM satellite radio subscription is up for renewal, politely (politeness is the key element here) call them up and tell them you're cancelling because it costs too much.

They'll offer you a better price. Tell them your buddy got his renewal for $XX (a lesser amount than what they're offering you). Be firm and be confident, but don't be a dick. Asking the rep how they're doing and saying please and thank you goes a long way -- the reps do have discretion when it comes to discounts.

EDIT: I felt I should clarify that while you can communicate with a rep via online chat, those reps will not offer you any discounts unless you go with a lesser package. Do NOT go with a lesser package! Even the phone reps will try to convince you to go with a lesser package at first, which, granted, does save you money, but these directions do not require you to give up what you have. I saved over $150 by calling...you can, too!

Your verbiage is important here, too. Do not say you want to cancel or you might cancel -- say you are cancelling because it costs too much.
