YSK: Chest compressions only CPR is just as if not more effective than CPR with Chest Compressions and Mouth to Mouth resuscitation.

Research published in The Journal of the American Medical Association among other shows that individuals who received chest compression only CPR after suffering a cardiac arrest in a non hospital setting had a 60% better chance of surviving than if they had received mouth to mouth resuscitation and chest compression CPR or no CPR at all.

This may be because getting the blood flow restarted after interrupting Chest compressions with mouth to mouth resuscitation can take a while. The oxygen remaining in your blood is enough to sustain your body for a while and Chest Compressions actually pump some air into the lungs also.
