YSK Social Security does not accept photocopies of identification when you mail in applications for replacement social security cards.

If you want a replacement card you need to send in either a driver's license, state ID or passport.

You can also come in and show one of these 3 forms of ID. They can also accept student ID iin person or a recent (less than 2 years) medical record from your doctor.

Also, birth certificates are not a form of identification. They show you were born, not that you are still alive.
